Creative Nestlings in association with Creative Cape Town a programme of the Cape Town Partnership, invites you all to #ConversationsonCreativity 8.0. Conversations on Creativity 8.0 is the eighth series in Cape Town featuring guest host Didi Ntsie (Blogger /// Dot Connector ///). For the second #ConversationsonCreativity in 2014, they have enlisted 4 creative influencers from around the world to share on their work, lives, environments & thoughts on life as a “creative”. SPEAKERS: Daniel Ting Chong - illustrator, designer and artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. Studied graphic design at Vega. He is emerging as one of Cape Town’s top creative talents following a series of art exhibitions, talks, commissions from clients and design collaborations with leading international brands including Nike, New York Times and the Discovery Channel. Celeste Arendse - graduated in fashion design at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2007. After working for www.kluk.co.za in 2008, she became an Elle New talent finalist in 2009 and from there ventured into creating her own clothing brand – Selfi. Inspired by architecture, forms and patterns in nature, each garment is designed to represent an innovative twist toward existing women’s apparel. Dathini Mzayiya - if art is a mirror of society then Dathini Mzayiya’s work is a full length mirror of the contradictory nature of the space we call South Africa. The colours reflected in his mirror are portrayed through oil paints, charcoal and video installations that have led to prolific visual narratives and societal commentary. Dathini is a founding member of various art institutions, networks and collectives namely: Visual Arts Network South Africa (VANSA Western Cape), Africa South Arts Initiative (ASAI) and Gugulective. Jess Cross - an artist & DJ based between Cape Town and San Francisco, California. She started a non-profit company called SoulCity Movement in 2010 after graduating from Occidental College in Los Angeles. SoulCity represents a collective of artists that utilize art as a tool for creative self-expression and is an organization which facilitates art creation, collaboration, mentorship and showcasing. SoulCity was created to provide an artistic platform for cross cultural understanding through personal leadership development.
