Illustrators and designers, listen up! Once a year Interpret Durban invites creatives to take their best shot at interpreting the city of Durban, South Africa. Some call it Ethekwini, others Surf City, Stone City or even simply 031 after the city’s phone code – for those who live there, it’s where the fun never sets, the surf is world-class and many cultures come together. This year’s theme is ‘Durban: Concrete Circus’ and we at Springleap have the honour of hosting the Interpret Durban T-shirt design challenge! What kind of designs are we looking for? This challenge is for T-shirt designs that show the city of Durban at its best. It’s an amazing jungle port city where Zulu culture meets Indian tastes and colonial architecture, set against the deep blue Indian Ocean and the lush green subtropical hills of Kwa-Zulu Natal. This year’s theme lays it on for you - take ‘DURBAN: CONCRETE CIRCUS’ and let your imagination run wild with it! What is Interpret Durban? Established in 2010, Interpret Durban aims to showcase the city of Durban and its people by hosting a multi-disciplinary creative contest with great prizes. Everything comes together at the final exhibition, which doubles as a party and awards ceremony for the entries that stand out. The unique venues, artists, live music, décor and every other aspect of the night show off the best this city has to offer. Eric Edelstein and I were originally Durbanites that started with a couple of awesome retail stores that evolved into the Springleap concept. It’s enormously exciting to be involved in creativity in our hometown - Durban’s always been a great birthplace of creatives that have gone out in the world to do great things. This challenge celebrates that talent.” T’s & C’s 1. Submissions containing obscenities or hate speech are not allowed. 2. I am really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog.
Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility issues?
A few of my blog audience have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks
great in Chrome. Do you have any solutions to help fix
this problem?
I think it’s a really common issue - especially going mobile responsive.
You may need some custom dev, and I don’t think older explorer versions will ever sort the core issues in the browser
