well call me old fashioned but I happen to smaal colour, than a two tone design. The colour gives way more to a design, and yes simplicity can rock, but if you had to throw a different colour in there is would make a world of difference. EG make the bunnies a arb colour maybe purple, green even, and make the shirt blue and wow you will be noticed. That what I have noticed, the designs are great, awesome actually, but I feel some dont follow through with them they think once they design it thats it done. The shirt colour plays a big role, and I am sure in the future this will be given more thought…

and most of the white backgrounds, i don’t like coz the tshirts look too busy, or the design doesn’t suit them

but this one is a WHITE BACKGROUND with ONE COLOUR and it works!

very few of the designs have the “wow” factor - where you go, “wow, that’s really clever”

not sure i like tons of little bunnies being eaten up, but this is definately on the way to that “wow” factor - makes you look at the design twice (or more!)

Hey Tu - the problem occurs when new fonts are used and how difficult it is to make these tees as it is. Our main focus right now is to get the tees produced within a week of them winning.

Still - quite a cool idea! Will definitely discuss with the team!

me thinks, maaaaaaaybe let the artist design their own rear little tab thing, as long as it’s a small, single colour one, how’s that? Or maybe give the artist a small area for their own custom little icon graphics in the back? Just a thought. Of course there should be some default elements that must be present. How’s that?

Man, just received my first 4 today. Blown away man! Came with some neat discount vouchers, some neat pin-buttons with the design on it, and the shirts look great! Much better print quality than I thought! Only MINOR gripe is the text on the back that I feel detracts, I think it’d look better without it, but otherwise, AWESOME. Great presentation guys. Look forward to wearing mine, and getting the rest of shirts to give away to buddies! ;)

I created this design as a metaphor for one of many things we take for granted and are often illuded by. I’ve always been intrigued by the ghostly look of marionette puppets. I felt combining the ‘movement without life’ feel they present, along with the puppet masters string and not making the legs visible offers a forced adherence that i hope, carries the point across :)

LOL!!!! i’m aware of the ‘alluded’ typo(once you submit it, it’s done), and as for description, no smoke screen, i wrote what i meant, in the same manner i would write anything else.
I prefer to dig a little deeper with delivery.

Pretty cool. I think you’re waxing lyrical a bit too much in the description, though. Kind of put me off. This ain’t a varsity paper where bombastic language kind of creates a smoke-screen to what you’re actually trying to say. I also think its ‘Alluded’ and not ‘illuded’. In any event, nice illo, great colours, I would’ve put his neck coming a bit more off the front of his torso, and the big eye freaks me out, but I dig ‘his’ shirt, I see you put a lot of work into this. Nice ;)

creepy but cool…

I love the detail in old medical illustrations and wanted to juxtapose it with more modern design.

The result is eerie and hypnotic. I’ve worked in all areas of graphic deign for the last 11 years and when it come to doing art for myself I like to make trash art…with no rules as long as the compostion and end result feels good…a far cry from sticking to brand bibles.

Ryan is an old hand at graphica - he has spent 10 years in the industry and today works at one of the largest silkscreening companies in South Africa as their key man in the art department.

At one time he ran his own well known label : Rookie

I absolutely love this design - it is intricate and well balanced - expect nothing less from you Ryan ;)

What I really dig about this t-shirt design is the way that you really bring the eye’s focus to the center of the chest- all the design flows to the center and expands from there both in terms of the subject matter as well as the composition. Angels, Heaven, Death,Fragility - beautiful t-shirt indeed

I did this design after watching ALOT of reality TV and playing ALOT of Fallout 3!!!

This is the broadcast of the apocalypse…in CMYK of course!

I like using suited figures with TV’s and Radio’s as heads. Plus I think the end of the world will be decided by a suited person of authority and I would not be shocked if it was televised!

No silly Sergio, im no master when it comes to design or fashion, if anything i will always be a novice to aesthetics learning as i go along,
however ive been an illustrator as long as i can remember and i personally (and i wish the entire world was) much more impressed by creation than i am with duplication, its not a fashion matter at all because diversity and uniqueness is the core value of fashion that i enjoy the most. The matter at hand is execution, the folks that were in the compo had better designs, to me better = illustration, colour, line weight, composition and theory behind the design. The operative words here are “to me“ your welcome to your fashion sense sir. Dont wanna discuss this further its tedious and time consuming when i would rather spend the time illustrating better designs. Peace

I think this looks great and kudos for the win! Although I do agree in parts with Dusty, I find that the colours and the imagery does make up for the lack of so-called illustration.

At the end of the day, what people will love and wear isn’t necessarily all done by hand!

Understanding that is part of being a DESIGNER! Well done!

fair enough good points made, dunno maybe I’m just bias because i enjoy creating instead of innovating but i suppose there is something to be said about innovation, ideas definitely no where near innovative. I just feel their were better options on the table, well done on the win, I’ll just have to join the competition again seriously, voting and submissions, and make sure mediocre designs don’t come near the podium, no personnel offense intended.
