Ha! I tried to stay out of this one, but I had to comment.
I think the voting and selection of designs needs a whole overhaul. Two things that have always bothered me were:
1) if the community voice is so strong to get design printed that wasn't sellable would Springleap still move forward with the design and commission the artist?
2)voting should be more streamlined. If I want to wear a shirt, I will buy it, I don't sit in the store and contemplate if the shirt is on a sliding scale of likeness, its either, I'll wear it or not. I hate giving a answer like that, I'd rather have it give me those only choice. Yes or No, Wear it or not, print or not..not 1-5
I also believe that Springleap should make the final say in printing, because well it's your company, community or not, we are not there at the end of the year when your doing your books to see profit or loss so the final say should be up to you.
If you could mix all the perfect parts of voting on tees it would be a little like DBH and a little like threadless. However the problems with those sites as any artist that has subbed there knows, designs can sit dormant for a long time, even with good votes and never go to print, or sit dormant forever then suddenly and magically at the perfect moment its available to print. I hate being in limbo wondering if something will print so that's why these fast contest work great for Springleap since it has some immediate gratification. Votes, comments, buzz, marketing, tweets, facebook messages all that should be brought to the table before anything is marked winner. If I saw that someone got thousands of votes, but all referred from facebook, and another design has half the votes but from all types of places like blogs, the buzz it created should be evident, in the comments people left.
Maybe take a step back and see where you want to see Springleap head in 2010.
Good luck with everything and hurry up and print my Concealed Malice design so I can rock it!
@eraneyal Thanks man appreciate all the kind words. I wanted to get away from using stock vectors and having fun my latest two designs. I must of read the contest wrong, cause I knew it was for P.A.S.T but never thought it had to do with ties and shirts, just thought I wanted to make a casual day tee.. My mistake!
If it doesn't win, I have a jumbo/full print ready for DBH

Whats the word on the reprint on the new tees!?!
Nice score bud!
Why would you join a spec contest site if it's not about the end product? You could express yourself on flickr all day.
Dude I wish I could vote again! sick design!
Its not a tip or lesson, it was constructive critcism, if you look at past winners you will see what I mean..
Yea, just sad that you get full rights to my artwork for $125 and a watch...meh, seems more of a South African competition
Thanks sumo! I appreciate everyones kind words and votes!
